Cmrečnjak Winery sits on the hills of upper Međimurje – where the vineyard is not just agriculture, but landscape, the rhythm of the year and family discipline. From the first bottles of the early nineties to today’s modern cellar, we at Cmrečnjak Winery have remained true to one idea: quality is not invented – it is built, harvest by harvest.
Today the Cmrečnjak family tends its own vineyards, among which a special place belongs to Mađerka Hill – a site spoken of with respect in Međimurje. In the cellar, modern technology meets a calm, patient philosophy of ageing: from fresh, crystal-clear wines to complex labels that carry the signature of time.

MARKO AND RAJKO CMREČNJAK
Rajko Cmrečnjak laid the foundations. At a time when Međimurje did not yet have today’s reputation, he worked with a clear idea: to produce wine with order, quality and identity. His approach was disciplined, quiet and persistent – focused on the vineyard, work and the long term.
On that foundation Marko Cmrečnjak builds today – an oenologist and winemaker of a new generation, but with the same fundamental conviction: wine must have meaning. Marko brings a contemporary approach, understanding of the market and technology, but without turning away from what was built before him.
Their relationship is not a split between “old” and “new”, but a building upon what came before. Experience and intuition on one side, knowledge and research on the other.

First bottle
We received a geographical origin certificate and produced the first bottle with our own label.
1994
Tasting room
Participated in the “Vino u Hrvata” wine competition where we won 4 gold and 1 silver award. We opened the wine tasting room.
2002
Etiketa
We expanded the cellar and redesigned the labels.
1993
First cellar
We began building the tasting room and first cellar. We created Graševina and expanded the market to the Zagreb area.
1999
Expansion
We expanded the plantings and wine range.
2008
Pušipel
We produced our first bottle of Pušipel. At the “Wine Challenge London” competition we won two bronze medals. Our first steps onto the world market.
2013
Dogradnja
Significant equipment upgrades and cellar extension for sparkling wine production.

Sparkling wines
Start of sparkling wine production.
