Cmrečnjak Winery Vineyards
No vineyard is the same. That’s why the wines aren’t either.
Cmrečnjak Winery vineyards lie on the hills of upper Međimurje – a place where terrain, soil and climate do not allow mediocrity. Here the vineyard is not a flat field, but a decision: where to plant, how to plant and how closely to listen to nature.
Gentle but varied slopes, different exposures and soil composition create a mosaic of micro-sites. That difference allows Cmrečnjak to produce not one wine – but several interpretations of the same place. Each parcel gives its own tone: somewhere more freshness and minerality, elsewhere more maturity, structure and depth.

Mađerka
The character of a wine begins with the character of the place.
At the centre of that story is Mađerka Hill – a site with almost cult status in Međimurje. It is not just a point on the map, but a reference. A place where the vine gives grapes of greater concentration, more pronounced character and ageing potential. Wines from Mađerka speak not only of the variety – they speak of the place.
Work in the vineyard is based on precision and continuity. Yields are controlled, harvest is manual, and every decision aims to bring grapes to the cellar in optimal condition. At Cmrečnjak a simple rule applies: wine cannot be fixed in the cellar if it was not born in the vineyard.
Here every harvest begins in the same place – but never ends the same way.
Sites

MAĐERKA HILL
Some places have only a view. Mađerka has both a view and character.
The finest and most unique of Međimurje is Mađerka Hill. Shaped by the meeting of earth, stone and time. Here nature shows its diversity at every step, creating a landscape of strong identity. Wines from Mađerka have a special depth and authenticity that cannot be moved anywhere else.

SVETI URBAN
Every slope changes the view. And the character of the wine.
The diversity of nature translates into wines that retain the freshness, elegance and distinctive character of the place they come from.
Sveti Urban is not just a site, but a landscape of different views, slopes and light. Every hillside tells its own story, and every variety finds its unique expression. Here the richness of Međimurje terroir is felt at its best.

SVETI URBAN – CENTAR
The sun stays here a little longer. And in the wine too.
In the very heart of the Međimurje hills lies a site that lives from the afternoon sun. The day lasts a little longer here, and the grapes slowly gather warmth and character. It is a place of calm and concentration, where nature does not hurry.
Wines from this site reflect that quiet strength and roundness.

KRČE
The sun touches the vineyard first. Then the glass.
There the first rays of sun each morning wake the vineyard vines. The day begins gently here, in the silence of the hills and a light touch of light. That is why wines from this site often carry brightness, vitality and aromatic purity.

RIMŠČAK
Two suns. One character of wine.
On Rimščak morning and evening meet. The eastern slope greets the rising sun, the western sees it off, creating wines in which freshness and maturity naturally complement each other. Here the wind never rests, and the vineyards breathe to the rhythm of the whole day.
Every harvest carries the story of that balance of light, time and patience.

ŠANTAVEC
The evening sun leaves the deepest mark in the wine.
Šantavec is a place of silence and patience. A hill facing the setting sun slowly gathers warmth through the day and turns it into character. When evening light falls on the vines, that special moment is born that vineyard workers understand best.

BANFI
Great wines never reveal everything at once.
Banfi is a site of late western light. The sun stays long on the slopes here, bathing the vines in warmth that slowly ripens every berry. From that slowness comes depth.
Wines from Banfi reveal themselves gradually, layer by layer, just like the landscape that shaped them.

STANETINEC
These wines speak with elegance.
On the eastern slopes of Stanetinec every new day begins with light. Mornings here are special, clear and airy, and the vineyards absorb them from the first moments. That freshness remains recorded in the wine.
In the glass it becomes elegance, lightness and refined balance.
